How to manage ingredients
1. Access ingredients from the global library
The MyFoodOffice Global Library provides access to over 5,000 ingredients sourced from suppliers and official databases.
By using existing ingredients you will automatically access:
- Ingredient list
- Nutritional values
- Allergens
- Depending on the supplier: Article nr., Description and Use instructions
These ingredients will show up when you create your recipes, and automatically be added into your local ingredient library after they have been used in a recipe.

2. Create local ingredients
You can also create your own local ingredients if you are using ingredients from local suppliers that are not present in the global library.

3. Make sure your ingredients are up-to-date
The ingredient page contains editable data for the following:
- General info (for organizing)
- Price and cost (for food costing)
- Unit of measures (for easier recipe creation, food costing and stock take)
- Ingredient list (for food declarations)
- Article Description & Instructions (for internal information)
- Allergens & Traces (for food declarations)
- Nutrition values (for food declarations)
Ensuring accuracy in these fields is crucial. Incorrect data can lead to unreliable food declarations and inaccurate food cost estimates.
4. Keep your recipes up-to-date with the correct ingredients
Now and then you might find a better alternative for an ingredient, or even be forced to change. In these cases, it is important to update your recipes. You can do this manually one recipe at a time, or bulk-replace (requires Food Declaration Pro).
Bulk-replacement is a feature that allows you to replace one ingredient with another, in all or some of your recipes with one action. Click here to start a guide that shows you how to bulk-replace (requires Food Declaration Pro - opens in a new tab)
