Use semi-finished products for efficiency and systemization
MyFoodOffice offers flexibility in how you use recipes for your products. While you might initially create a single recipe per product, you can also leverage semi-finished product recipes for efficiency and organization. Example: Creating a Cake Recipe
Imagine creating a recipe for a full cake. This would include everything from dough for the cake base to creams and coatings. While this works for small batches, managing a complex recipe with multiple ingredients becomes cumbersome when dealing with large quantities like 10 different cake recipes. In many cases, a cake base recipe is used in several different cakes and the same with cream fillings.
Alternative Approach: Splitting the Recipe
Consider creating separate recipes for:
Cake base: Base recipe for the cake base.
Cream filling: Recipe for the cream used in the cake.
Frosting: Recipe for the spread you use.
Then, for each individual cake recipe, you would simply add the pre-made cake base, cream filling, and frosting along with any specific decorations or other elements you want.
Benefits:
Reduced Complexity: Easier to manage and modify individual components.
Improved Efficiency: Changes in the base recipes (cake base, cream filling, frosting) automatically update all linked cake recipes.
Scalability: Easier to handle large quantities by managing smaller, focused recipes.
This approach promotes efficient recipe management while maintaining control over different product compositions.
